Hi there, working at Leeds and was just wondering about a couple of things that I couldn't quite work out from others posts on here.
First off, do we get a staff entrance to the arena from the side we're camped on (heard this was over near the lockup stage)?
Second, how does it work with accessing the public campsites and then getting back? Not so much for shifts but say to visit friends in these at night then come back after campsite DJs etc have stopped. Do we go through the arena or is there some super secret method of bypassing the arena to get to the staff campsite?
Cheers for any info, Tim.

There is an arena entrance that is used exclusively by staff but you can use any entrance. Your wristband will allow you access to the arena and all the campsites, except Artist/Guest which have different wristbands that you will be issued with if thats where you are working (probably).
Yes you can get back to the Staff campsite after the Arena is closed.
You will be given a staff handbook that will have all the \"secret passages\" marked. The paths are so secret only a few thousand people will have access to them.
You will soon get an idea of the quickest ways to get around. If you can't go somewhere, Security will soon tell you.
The above information is subject to arbitrary changes and some of those may have happened since I was there last year but the theory is sound.

Thanks a lot! All sounds very exciting :D

Secret passages, hidden tunnels, secret handshakes and codewords.... all good.. but only if you pay full attention at the briefings... somethings mentioned therein can not be put into print... also be aware that you have to show your Hotbox Crew wristband to gain entry back into the CAT compound.

Not to mention discovering the secret of the minibuses!

Or the secrets of the minibus drivers... Those secrets will earn you some serious blackmail income!

oHH... The secret buses...ssshhhhh....

oohhhh... the secrets of the drivers... could make some serious bribery bonuses..

Haha I'm liking all the talk of secret paths and goings on here, definitely now expecting something more along the lines of moving statues and magic passwords rather than a bored looking security guard checking my wristband so I can navigate a muddy track :D

?what, we're allowed out at night? Like real cats? After all these years, NOW they tell me, bastards x

CATs CATs come out to playyy.y.y.yyyyyyyyyyy........ [:o)]

Yes Joolz.. all CATs are allowed out at night, and even in the day too... as long as they all eventually tuck themselves in for a good sleep and be fully rested and fresh for their shifts.[^]

And of course, being respectful of other CATs in the compound resting or sleeping between their shifts. [B)]

Not quite moving statues but often a small handful of Oxfam volunteers, doing the job of one person, checking your wristband as you enter through the magical secret gate.

Watch out for the inevitable lorry that falls into the ditch and wrecks the wall somewhere along the secret path. It's happened every single year for the past 5 years or more. Comical as hell, especially when you're a bit tiddly and wobbling your way back to the Litter Tray (CAT Compound). Feel free to point and laugh, I swear it's the same guy every time!
