last year i went to reading i saw some people with grey and red bands and i thought they were staff.. since ive seen some pics of CATs with some green bands of paper.. only question im asking is about whether they are paper or fabric? my worry is that while showering etc the paper ones wouldnt last too long and then id be stuck in reading with no band lol!

thanks for the feedback guys!

the plastic ones are from 06 or 07 CATS, the grey and orange fabric ones are from Reading 08, hopefully they are fabric this year as well

A variation on the theme... what colour are CAT tshirts going to be this year?

Teal with bright yellow writing is all well and good for standing out in the crowd but the tshirts last year clash with everything in my wardrobe (does teal go with any colour?).

Of all the questions I've ever read on the forum - the CAT t-shirts clashing with ones wardrobe has to be the most pertinent to the job in hand!

I?m currently talking with a few suppliers as I?d like to go ethical with the t-shirts (environmentally friendly inks, organic cotton, ethical practices etc) ? preferably I?d like to go with white or black as a base. We?ve gone with Turquoise/Teal in the past as per the tabards. The logos in white or black depending on the t-shirt base.

If anyone comes across any good looking ethical t-shirt suppliers please let us know...

ahh im liking the ethical approach! and black would be good as it wont go see through if people throw water lol.

this site says its the only organic tshirt seller in europe =s

black supposedly absorbs heat if its sunny so may not be too good, but just how much hotter can it really make you? i'm a fan of black but its also nice to have a splash of colour to match our cheery cat attitudes. that sounds pretty cheesy. oh well!

just please don't make them grey, its boring and the worst colour for showing up sweat marks if it is a hot one!

The White n Black ones in 06 were pretty cool but 08 ones were very funky!!

My favourite is the black text on bright yellow t-shirts that we had at Leeds Festival in 2004.

It was nice and bright, so made it easier for the festival goers to find the assistance - All of the festival goers wear black or white! I still wear my 2004 t-shirt occassionally, although it's starting to look a little old now!

i think i have seen said t-shirt, it does look good

... but the annual festival mudpack keeps us looking younger, eh Jo?!

Haha yes it does .. I bagged a years supply from Leeds last year and now I look 10 years younger.[:X]

(That should be enough to send them to Leeds[;)])

T-shirts. well, I favour a colour themed approach, rather like I did last year with red as my main colour given that there were no Latitude CAT t-shirts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
White is too draining and only looks good with a tan. Black is too severe, grey is too wishy-washy and nondescipt.
How about blue for boys and pink for girls.................LOL

It's sounding like they may be white (sorry!) - going ethical and organic with the t-shirts isn't going to be cheap - white t-shirts will mean we might just be able to do it (coloured are more expensive). I've been speaking with www.tshirtandsons.co.uk.

We're trying to go for their Earthpositive shirts. These are the most environmentally friendly and ethical t-shirts on the planet. They are 100% organic cotton and manufactured using solar and wind power. Apart from the shipping there are no fossil fuels used thus reducing the CO2 emissions by 90% compared to another organic t-shirt let a alone a non organic t-shirt.

Alongside the above they sound very good:

> checked regularly by the Soil Association not only for the entire companies environmental status including the inks but also the Social aspect as well.

> the manufacturing chain has been completely audited form cotton seed to high street.

> certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)

> in addition to their unique organic status they are also on the Steering Group for the Sustainable Clothing Action Plan launched by DEFRA last year.

> the only textile printers that have been carbon footprinted by the Carbon Trust. This enables them to calculate the exact amount of carbon emissions used for a specific design.

> a certified Fairtrade supplier.

> they state that they are the most ethical and environmentally friendly printer on the planet.

They look great - love the idea of ethical t-shirts. Shame they have to be white, but never mind.

At least you're not going to try and make me wear PINK!!!!!

white is ok, just shows up the dirt more!!

Both the Festival Republic and HotBox Events logos would disappear.

As would the outside of the Reading & Leeds logos.

Alongside cost, this is one of the reasons I'm thinking white. If they are to be a colour it needs to work with the 4 logos (inc CAT although thats the easy one).

I've never seen the point of the t-shirts. If your working then you will have a jacket on and when not working you wont have it on. It is a great souvenir dont get me wrong, but no t-shirt is more ethical than a fancy organic fair trade one?

gavs got a point!
