Hot Box news tells me the re-opening of applications to the Big Chill has been done. However there are 7 places and counting available due to cancellations. What number is necessary for them to reopen again? Is there anyone I can call directly to take a place? I just finished latitude and am eager to get into the Big Chill.

Rob, there were one or two camped near me that were also interested in going to Big Chill, I did speak with Tavis and it may have been you also, but was told that it was less than 20 days to the event therefore not enough time for the PNC check and that it was a different Police force than Latitude etc...
However, according to the INFO guidelines... depositis/appilcations and PNC checks need to be done by 23rd July...

That said, it would imply that there is still time albeit less than 24 hours for an application to be processed to fill the remaining 13 positions.

LONDON - ISLINGTON/KINGS CROSS/CAMDEN/EUSTON AREA - TO BIG CHILL

I'm driving to Big Chill on Wednesday morning, leaving Kings Cross area for about 8.00am, have space for 2 or 3 plus gear...
In return, equal share of fuel costs - bear in mind my Ford Galaxy 2.3 is a bit of a guzzler...but will still be cheaper than a train, bus, coach, helicopter....
I'd be looking to come back early(ish) on the Monday morning, please sync your shifts with mine or make your own way back...
