Good - new friends, civilised showers (mostly, some moron wrecked one at Glasto last year -grr), secure camping.
Bad - being k...nackered after the night shift.
Hint - number of returners. ;)
returners?
Returning staff... A lot of staff come back year-after-year due to the experience being a great one and because you meet a lot of new friends.
hey coe anlong and have a laugh

best job ever .... getting groomed to have fun at festivals
R u off with friends or on ur own?
R u off with friends or on ur own? it'll be my first time at fests too m8
hey im new to working at fests too m8.. are u off on ur own ?
woo there fella wait for a reply.
i will be on my own for some of them and with friends for others. doing both cat and dcss this year. did my first fest last year at leeds as a cat. loved it
I'm on my own also - for the first time at a festival, working dcss at Reading ... rather excited! :-)
Ouch Sarina, first time with DCSS and you'll be at Reading? Hope it doesnt put you off...
Working with DCSS I've had some amazing times... The work can suck, and can be hard going sometimes, but it is so much fun. The staff are generally all very like minded people, 99% of them will always be up for shenanigans between shifts, and the after parties can be great fun as long as you stay awake (I say stroking my poor eyebrows).
You'll all have a great year, and more than likely you'll be doing it for years to come. I'm on my 7th year this year.
hahaha, ive heard this from a few people now...hmmm...why is this?
Hoping it will be lots of fun...I've been to many festivals here in Australia and am currently studying event management and doing a bit of work experience here and there so should be ok...I hope?
Looking forward to the adventure :-)

Goin to leeds fest this year. How many bands can i expect to see over the weekend? BTW, i'm seein RATM regardless of...
It varies. The day shift at Reading/Leeds generally see headliners and the night shift generally see bands during the day. You can sometimes arrange to take your breaks during a particular band, however there is no guarantee you will be able to.
Kind regards,
Tavis
if there is someone you particularly want to see, when you get to the site sign up for the shifts that dont go over the time when your band is on. but if you cant get such a shift, becoming friends with your supervisor can help as they might be able to get you a break at the time of your band.

My first time with DCSS was at Reading last year and was on green teletubbytower the whole weekend. Really didn't expect what everyone said would happen but loved it all the same! mentalists!
