Hi,
I am about to book my train ticket to Reading (from London) but I can see that an open return is cheaper than booking two singles. But I'm worried if I don't book for a specific train (and seat)for my return journey I will have problems getting on a train because of the huge numbers of people.
Any advice? last time I went I got a lift in a car so I haven no idea what the train situation is like.
Thank you.

Extra info: I don't finish my shift until 4pm on Monday so hopefully most people will have left by then. But I'm not sure how long it will take me to pack up and get to the station which is another reason I thought an open return would be better.

If you're travelling later on the Monday (after 13:00) it shouldn't be necessary to book a particular train / seat, as most of the festival goers will have already left (most leave the site before 11:00)... If it makes no difference to cost I'd leave your journey as flexible as possible.

Book a seat on a train you know you will be able to get to as a backup. If you have an open return you don't have to use the reservation
