Calling Reading CATS?? This is my first time as a CAT - I'm usually in the campsite but my son now goes to Reading with his mates, so after fishing last year I decided to come along as a CAT this year (if they'd have me, which they will!![:)]). Don't know anyone, but hoping to meet some sociable folk over the weekend. If not I'll be the one sitting in the corner on my own....[:(] Anyone out there who's new?

Don't know what happened there - I definitely didn't write fishing - it should have read fishing..... after fishing last years festival. If that comes up as fishing again you'll be really confused [:I]
Okay, someone likes fishing. Anyway, lets try it another way: after I was absent from last year's festival...[;)]
That'll be the forum word filters!
You certainly won't be sat in the corner on your own! The majority of CATs are applicants who have applied alone, which makes it more fun, as everyone is out to make new friends. I look forward to working with you at Reading.
Kind regards,
Tavis
Welcome to Cats Teal
I can assure you the Reading and Leeds Cats are a friendly bunch and certainly sociable, Please check out the Cats Facebook group below to get to know some of your future Cat buddies.
teal you will have great fun and meet lots of cool people, i went on my own my 1st yr and this is my 4th yr doing CATS
Thanks guys for the encouraging messages! Looking forward to meeting you all [8D]
Hi Teal, I agree with previous posts regarding the warm welcome you're given by the existing CATS and indeed new CATS also. Last year I too was a new CAT and arrived on my own, I met some fantastic people, was part of an excellent team and really really enjoyed myself.
I have exchanged eMail addresses, telephone numbers and facebook details with a handful of people and keep in regular contact with them. And... very happy to say that at least 5 of them and me.. have applied, been offered and accepted our positions for this year.
You will have a cool time......
It's my first time CATing too. I'm nervous, but everybody says it's amazing, so I'm sure it'll be good fun!
Well maybe we'll have L plates for newbies??[:D]
My advice to new CATs: look for a campfire, bring a chair and some \"tinnys\", say hello to your new friends.... before you know it, the weekends over and you've had the best time imaginable
:)
that is the best advice...just chill out chat to your neighbours, u will start to know everyone there
you definitely need a camping chair, i think it saved my life last year. the year before i had borrow other people's! it may not seem the comfiest thing if you try it before you come but after hauling bags and tents and beer around and sleeping on the floor it's HEAVEN.
Oh yeah, camping chairs are ace! Except I made the mistake of buying a beach chair last year, so I was way lower than everyone else in their chairs. Felt like a little kid :D
camping chairs are a must, plus comfortable shoes to work in...i wear my steel toe cap boots, comfy and safe
bring a guitar if you play!
might see if i can find me wimbleos!!

don't you think the purpose of the word filter is so people dont know what your saying? so if they dont want the word wimbleos on here then why write it with spaces inbetween!? we will end up with word filters on everything! arghhh distraction again...going back to work
i know that but i was trying to say wimbleos but people wouldnt of known wat i meantr
