I've selected to arrive on the Tuesday for Latitude and using public transport to get down (Coming from Doncaster).
Are there any recommendations on getting to the campsite as the shuttle buses wont be running?

But don't we get to chose which team we wish to work on, normally dependant on the timings of the shifts?
Surely the patterns have been worked out already so why can't they be made available to us prior to arrival?

I must admit, it would seem reasonable that if people are being asked to come down a day early, they should be able to know what other times they would be expected to work.
For example, I am willing to come down on tuesday, but if working that 8am Wednesday shift meant that later on in the festival I would miss Thom Yorke...I'd be a wee bit annoyed at making the 5 hour trip a day early.

My thoughts entirely, also, whether the pattern would also mean having to work to Monday morning.... as I really want to get away as early as poss....
C'mon, reveal the shift timing patterns.... they must have already been worked on..... [^]

It's not quite that easy unfortunately.
This due to:
1. Fairly varied teams - there are four sub-groups within the two groups below.
CATs: Shuttle Bus Directional, Green Campsite, Red Campsite, Yellow Campsite, Family Campsite, Guest Campsite / Area, Artist Campsite, Campervan Crossroads
HATs: Memorial Family Campervan Gate, Stables Gate, 13th Gate, Green Campsite, Red Campsite, Yellow Campsite, Family Campsite, Underage Monitoring, Theatre seating, Literary Lounge, Little Bridges, Kids Area
2. We don't know final numbers yet - as the deadline has been extended. We still need about another 20.
Until we know how many we'll have in total, we can't finalise the shifts.
We've planned to do this next weekend i.e. as late as possible so we can figure in the late additions.

I still have some confusion. The question in the application says
If you are working at Latitude Festival can you arrive on the Tuesday to work your first shift at 8am on the Wednesday?
I may be pedantic but this is a request for information from me not an invite for me to arrive on Tuesday.

I would expect Steph will contact those who have requested to work the Wednesday shift individually - probably towards the end of this week to give all the chance to login.
So - please login to PAAM and answer the question. You'll then most likely receive an email with specifics e.g. the shifts which will follow. You can then make an informed decision dependant on the acts you would like to see, the time you can get off work, your travel arrangements and so on.

Mark, it would appear that what you are saying is that if we tick the box that says we can arrive on Tuesday to work the first shift on Wednesday morning, then we will get information regarding shift patterns that follow, in order to make an informed decision as to whether or not we do actually want to work the Wednesday....?
We could then decide that we don't actually want to work the Wednesday as it clashes with our desired bands/acts or leaving times for travel and work leave.....?
So, surely everyone could/should tick the box to say they will arrive Tuesday, see the shift pattern and then decide against it....!!
For those that do have to re-arrange leave days through work, it doesn't give much notice if you're gonna inform those that have expressed an interest at the end of the week... for many people, this would mean having to tell/ask their employer on Monday to take Tuesday off.
At this point in time, only a week away, surely you know how many CAT staff there will be so must be able to ascertain numbers required for each team and the shift patterns.

Hello, yes I will - I'll contact all those who can potentially work on the Weds shifts (to arrive on the Tues) and will email to offer the shift pattern that will follow for those working the Tuesday so that you can confirm if this is ok for you - those who accept can then be pre-booked on to that shift pattern. In that case, I'll be checking/ticking the box in order to see the working shift pattern, it may however, mean that it won't work for me so will opt against it.
Shift pattern timings still can't be revealed at this point then...?

Steph, can it be assumed that you meant Wednesday rather than Tuesday...[:I]
Or is there a further request to arrive Monday to work the Tuesday...[|)]

Well have ticked the box will just have to see what happens.
