Hey again everyone, am looking forward to Reading this year.
Just wondering, is there a way we can sort out an agreement with the cafateria to be able to use there hot water for food and drink. Even if there is a small charge, just makes it easier instead of having to buy a stove etc.
thanks [:D]

Do you mean you got told off? I kept going in the cafe to get free hot water!
Please be aware that gas stoves will be banned at this year's Reading and Leeds - We are trying to find out if this also applies to the staff camping area, and will let you know as soon as we do, but it may be necessary to bring a solid / liquid fuel stove if you plan to cook outside your tent.
Watch this space...
It was free last year ?
I did go an ask a couple of times, and they always said no!
And 1 time i went to get some without asking and i got told off.
Was just wondering if it can all be cleared up at all :s
Cheers

lol sorry...don't mean to sound angry hehe

i never got told off
Both the Reading CAT camping location and catering tent is planned to change this year. The plan is you'll have more space, better toilets, better showers, and access to a better cafe (the latter shared with security)...
We'll confirm this and update you all nearer the time but basically you should be in a far better boat down there...if you'll pardon the pun...
We've been discussing any problems we can foresee - thus there hopefully shouldn't be any. Although if any arise Edd Phillips or Julie (the FR zone manager for the area you'll all be based in) will be on hand to resolve.

I'm able to inform you that CATs will still be able to cook using a gas stove, but only in the crew camping area. The ban on canisters applies to public areas.
Phew! That's great news Tavis :)
I presume the same applies to Latitude?
Wait - Leeds & Latitude as per Tavis' comment. Still discussing re Reading.
wat about cans?

Not sure what you mean, Chris. Could you please elaborate.
as in beer, on the official website it says u cant take beer cans into the campsite
i got confused...its into the arena...dont worry lol
I'm thinking a toaster and microwave for the office. Lets just get really comfortable. [:D]
lol mike
The mess the shift supervisor's kept leaving with just a kettle was bad enough, so the answer is no to a microwave and toaster! You'll have to have bread and butter with your cold soup instead!
Blimey, imagine being Tavis' child...
Tavis: \"Look, when I was a kid all I had to play with was a rotting ball of string and three poisonous berries, so no, you can't have a ball\".
I do totally agree though Tavis, with the microwave and toaster comment I mean!
Bread and butter and cold soup? I used ta dream of cold soup... All we had to eat was bloody cold pork pie...
A minging pork pie as well I might add if it was anything like the Latitude.. Melton Mowbray was it called or something !!
it wasnt that bad
