I haven't seen any mention of the HATs system this year, has the idea been scrapped?

Leeds Met are recruiting and will be managing the HATs at Reading this year - as they do at Leeds and Latitude.

I believe most are sourced in-house - via Leeds Met Performing Arts courses.

As in 2008 we will have CATs in the Latitude Arena (Comedy & Cabaret Tents) and in the Kids Area. Also in the backstage artist campsite and guest campsite.

If you're interested in being a HAT - please contact us and we will pass on your details to Leeds Met.

What's the difference between CATs and HATs?

CATs are Campsite Assistance Teams and HATs are Helpful Arena Teams... Last year HotBox Events ran the HATs at Reading Festival, although as Mark says above Leeds Metropolitan University will be running the HATs at Reading this year (as they have done at Latitude and Leeds in the past).

Rob... Stop trying to tempt the good volunteers to defect to another team! ;o) Just because we tempted you from DCSS!

Rubbish!

I enjoyed doing both last year, got to work with more people that way and the HATs were a good bunch!

Never mind, I wont be tempted away from CATing - I enjoy the campsite side of it tbh. Plus us cats are awesome :D

Okay this has just changed - Hotbox Events will be supplying some HATs to Latitude. Our HATs will be based in the campsites although still focused on info re the arena e.g. running orders.

We'll supply more info via the news area ASAP.
