Hi
I have just been looking at the forum on the festival website and it goes on about explosions, crazy teletubbys and telegraph poles being pulled down or something! Not being a Reading regular I was unaware that Sunday nights are renowned for being somewhat kerrazy in that way!
So I can come prepared, could a more experienced fellow CAT maybe tell me a bit more about such apparently traditional Sunday night antics?
Thanks, Nat

Unfortunately there are always a few festival goers that seem to enjoy destroying what they love so much! However this year the event as a whole should be calmer with the introduction of more covert staff and headcams, thus increasing the security and CCTV coverage throughout the festival. Although there have been some incidents in the past, many of the stories on the forums are exaggerations of what actually happened!

Kind regards,

Tavis

this year's reading was the worst ever, according to many, when it comes to sunday night chaos. didnt want to make a new thread, but really wan't to know how much hassle you guys/gals had to put up with this year, especially on the sunday. planning on working/volunteering for reading 09, but want to make sure i know exactly what im getting myself into. heard some mad stories about what went on in the campsites, and they arent the kind of things that you exaggerate about. cheers

You don't have to worry too much about the trouble being a CAT. The main job is to patrol the camp and report back with anything that's happening around the campsite so security/teletubby services can sort it out. Being a volunteer you don't have to get involved with anything you don't feel comfortable with and you certainly don't have to get in the thick of the trouble (that's security's job). If it gets particularly hairy then CATs will be called in anyway, safety is paramount.

Only one team works during Sunday night, so if you don't want to try being a CAT on that night it's easy enough to sign up onto one of the other four teams.
