Do hotbox run the HATs at Reading? If so how are you chosen to be a HAT or CAT?
Second one, is each volunteer given a radio or do people go around in groups with one radio for every two people etc. Just wondering as I have only just thought to add to my PAAM profile that I have had radio comms training with the police and other organisations (if it helps).

We are not running the HATs at Reading Festival this year - just CATs
We normally allocate 2-4 radios per zone, so approx. one radio for up to four people. I'm sure your radio experience will make you an ideal candidate for a radio position, so please make this known to your supervisor when you sign-in at the event.

The CAT Information Pack (which will be available to download a few days prior to each event) along with your PAAM profile page should be enough to identify you at the gate - contact phone numbers for the on-site managers are also provided in the CAT Information Pack, so if there are any issues upon arrival they can normally be resolved pretty quickly.

Yes, that is right - shifts will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis on deposit payment date and will be chosen on PAAM.
We are just finalising the shifts for all of the events now, so the system should be going live in the next day or two for Latitude with the other events following suit in the next few weeks. You will receive a message from PAAM when the shift selection system is fully operational.

Just wondering, I paid my deposit quite late. Does the system work so that I will have to wait for everyone who paid their deposit before me to choose a place before I can?

No - You will all choose your shifts at the same time. Then the manager for each event will go through and allocate shifts on a first-come, first-served basis.
Reading's shifts should go online soon.

fisrt-come first-served on PAAM? i was not expecting that to happen, i was just planning on turning up on tuesday like last time! im pleased my friend let me know that was up there! when did it go live cause i only did mine today...

You'll still be able to arrive from 12:00 (noon) on the Tuesday, which we would recommend, as queues will be shorter and local congestion lighter... It's a great chance to socialise with other volunteers before the first shift starts too! :o)
Applications went live on 7th March... Shifts will be allocated on PAAM soon.

You can request campsites from your supervisor prior to your shifts starting - you get a chance to meet them at your briefing. If they can fit in your request, every effort is made to do so.
