Hi Everyone!

This is my first year CATing at reading although ive been the festival before!
me and my girlfriend are going together this year to see some great bands although im just trying to get as much info on it as i can.. we obviously want to stay together in the same zones at same times as much as possible but realise this may not always happen so we just want to find out how we can increse our chances by getting their on an earlier day or time etc!

looking forward to it a lot!

lets hope its sunny like 08 not raining like 07!!!

Get to site early after it opens. The shifts are arranged in sets of 3 shifts (you don't choose the shifts individually), so there are 5 or 6 sets in total. Last year most people who arrived early got the shift pattern they wanted.

As for working on the same campsite, that's all easily sorted. You'll have a briefing sometime before your first shift in which people are asked what campsite you want, people often group themselves together and usually it works out fine if you're only a pair.

Obviously nothing is 100% guarenteed, but get there early and make it known you want to work on the same campsite and you shouldn't be far off.

I don't think we actually filled any of the teams until the following morning - So everyone who arrived in the first twelve hours at Reading got the shift they wanted last year...

ahh wow thats great! i cant wait to get there! aparently (at leeds) some get there on tuesday and camp out and have a good time before it opens! does anything like that happen at reading?

also, last year i was at reading and in the white car park there was a fire accidently started with a bbq.. which is silly.. but what car parks do CATS park in? can they park in either and also do we have to pay for the parking for the weekend because i've heard nothing about that!

thanks guys! everyone seems so nice! cant wait to get my festival wellys on this year!

It's my first year CATing too. I'm going on my own, so I'm a little nervous, but I'm looking forward to it!
