Clean Crew Camps

Just thought it time to bring this thread into 2009.

For all CATs old and new; it is time that we as staff set an example. The campsites can be kept clean with just a small ammount of effort. And it is up to each and every one of us to try and do our bit this year.

Have a good evening, pile the cans and rubbish high. But in the morning, bin it in the proper allocated places.

It will not take much time, you will be helping the site, and more importantly, you will be keeping the CATs good name. That means more places next year! If you enjoy having your CAT place, then do your bit to make sure that we will return!

i agree, if you put ur rubbish in the bin when u have finished with it then you wont have so much to clear up the next morning

Better still... Have a bin bag next to you when you're having a good evening and put your empty cans and rubbish straight in... Then you won't have to clean up with a hangover! ;o)

Well done to all at Latitude for the relatively clean site left behind. Still there were a few that obviously couldn't work out where the bins were but the vast majority did well, lets hope come August we can avoid a repeat of last years Reading fallout!!

I thought my area was exceptionally tidy, though I do confess to missing a couple of ciggie butts... I did try and get them all, even keeping a coffee cup with a lid on to put them in... but, I know I missed a few, then again they weren't my brand, but were quite close to my tent....

just returned from Y Not festival as a punter and was surprised how how rubbish free the campsite was. there were LOADS of bins though so that helped a lot i guess (and i mean loads, from my tent there was a bin 1 tent behind and the next one was 1 tent in front and 2 across).

I've just got back from little picking at Sonisphere festival. It's awful the state that some of punters left the campsites!!! Bags of poo, a million bottles of wee!!!! Piles of rubbish that took 4 or 5 bin bags to get rid of!!!! Some of the people I was working with had been doing litter at Global Gathering the week before and it was even worse!!!!

Some of the contractor camping was only marginally better! Keep a bin bag in or by your tent, chuck your rubbish in it. It's the easiest thing to do and makes life a lot easier for the post even clean up crews!!!!

Just got back from Sonisphere and the crew camp was as bad as the punters. And there is no excuse.

At Reading and Leeds the CATs are a huge staff contingent and we must set an example. So, be prepared to clean up after yourselves!

Or else! And you really don't want to know what that threat means!!!

Despite being told that the state of the CAT compound at Reading this year was greatly improved on last year, I am still disgusted to have seen the state that some CATs left the area (you know who you are, and I hope you are ashamed of yourselves!). It took a few volunteers along with management staff at least 4 hours clearing up after those messy few. We all worked hard on our shifts to make Reading '09 a great festival and do not expect to have to do further work to clear up after those who should know better.

It is a shame that there are a few that let the side down. I hope that in future years CATs can be more responsible and act like the adults they are supposed to be and put their empty cans and baby wipes etc in the bags that are provided on signing in.

OK. Rant over. :o)
