This is more a question to the big chiefs of the CAT community.
I have stupidly forgotton to apply this year after 2 years of working as a CAT. I am aware that the CAT posistions are now full. Is it likely there will be some more spaces coming soon? Or how likely is there to be a few cancellations?
Thanks for your help

George

We do re-open closed festival applications once or twice a season to refill the openings created by cancellations. To find out when/if we are going to re-open events please keep an eye on the Hotbox Events News and make sure you're subscribed to the Newsletter.

We fill the places quicker and quicker each year due to word of mouth. This year it surprised all of us that it only took about four-and-a-half weeks to fill both Latitude and Reading - in 2009 it took almost 10 weeks to fill the Reading places!

Regarding canellations what are the rules on how much notice you need to give? and how long does it take to get deposits back, it at all?

Tavis posted this 15 April 2010

We like volunteers to give as much notice as possible, as this will mean we can seek replacements!

If you do need to cancel a position, please read the Terms and Conditions for details of the notice required and details relating to the return of the deposit

Are you able to give me a heads up at all Tavis when you plan to re-open the application for Reading. Is understandable if you can't, but want to make sure Im ready for it when it does come about.

Unfortunately, I can't offer a date, as the date when / if we re-open will depend on how many cancel prior to the event. Last year we didn't re-open Reading until late July.
