Hi
I have got an option of a handy parking space on caversham road and it is probably more secure than in white car park on site. Is there any other way I can access the site to get into Yellow campsite on tuesday rather than trek up to white car park / gate?

Hey, Im presuming people are now gonna be arriving on Tuesday to get more choice of shifts and camping space. Im working till the evening that day so wont be able to get to Reading until about 10pm. Would that still be ok to park up and book in or is it better just to leave it till the morning?
The CAT office will close around midnight on Tuesday, so if you can arrive before then that would be fine. The CAT office will reopen again around 08:00 on Wednesday. Those that arrive when the office is closed should pitch their tent (please make sure you camp in the dedicated CAT area though) and then come and register in the morning.
Kind regards,
Tavis
Tavis, sorry if I'm repeating questions, or not picking up the relevent answers if you have answered in previous topics/posts...

Please can you confirm....
CAT secure car parking is in White which is north of the river, and shows as Campervans on the map...?
Resulting in a 30min walk across pedesrian bridge, through Brown caming, through Purple camping, then through to South of Yellow...
Or... can you park in Orange...?
According to a post I have read which is for staff but is minimal and therefore.. first come first served.... ?
Camping for CAT/HAT/DCSS is in Yellow.. south near NME stage?
My apologies again for repetition of questions,... just need to be certain...

The White car parks are north of the White campsite on the other side of the river, yes. CAT camping will be somewhere just below the Yellow campsite behind the NME stage/adjacent to the railway line. When you get to Yellow head towards the big NME tent and you will find the fence/gate between public and staff areas.
Orange parking is strictly limited for a small number of staff only. The gate will only have a list of staff names and therefore volunteers will be unable to access this car park at all. All CATs must therefore park in White.
Kind regards,
Tavis
I have looked at a map of Reading 08 taken from the live nation website and no yellow gate is showing! Is it off the map?! Or more likely are the red, blue and green pedestrian entrances / gates closest to Caversham Road, where I will park)?
Here's a map of Reading Festival:
http://media.livenation.co.uk/fido/publishing/news/j/t/w/Read08%20sitemap%2013.8.pdf
The Yellow Gate is right at the very bottom of the map. Streetwise, it's just off Portman Road. A bit of walk from Caversham Road, but nothing major.
Pauk's original link led to a 2003 map of Reading Festival, which is considerably out of date. I have therefore edited his link for a copy of this year's map.
White Gate (for DCSS & CAT arrival via car) - Just north of the White pedestrian entrance on the map, which is north of the River Thames. White car park will be signposted locally, but please read the PAAM information for directions.
Orange Gate (for some DCSS staff only) - Just south of where it says Orange Camping. Again this will be signposted locally. It is off Portman Road.
Yellow Gate (for DCSS & CAT arrival on foot) - About 300 yards before Orange Gate when approaching from the Richfield Avenue end.
Kind regards,
Tavis
