Hi guys, hope everyone is as excited as I am. So:
I've read the lists of what you are recommended to bring as a normal punter (on the forum of the official site), but is there anything else I need to bring specific to working there? I saw Tavis mention earplugs, as the campsite is quite near the stage, are there any other things?
Second, I'm coming with two friends, and we're arriving on the Wednesday morning, but one of them is coming from London. Would it be worth meeting up with her at the station or something to increase the chances that we'll be working the same shift?
Also, how much crème should I bring? Will there be custard machines on site, or will I have to go into the town?
Will there be somewhere I can charge my phone/MP3 player, or is it not really worth bringing them?
Thanks guys, see you all soon!

yeah bring your phone charger but Tavis said there may not be enough plug sockets for anything besides a phone charger. I am not sure about how much crème you should bring depends on what the crème is for I guess. Sorry I couldn't anwser all your questions...and yes I am well excited [:D].
There's custard machines on site, but they always have massive queues and they charge fees for withdrawing. So you might as well get custard from town, it's not that far.
How much crème you need depends on how much food and drink you're planning on buying. I usually buy food and beer in town and bring it to the campsite, so I hardly buy any food or drink at the festival (My food budget is usually 20-30 pounds including beer). If you're one of those people who drinks throughout the day in the arena and only eats from the fast food outlets then you'll obviously need quite a bit. And then of course there's the tshirts and merch...
The food is typical fast food (5-8 quid depending on what you get) and the beer is about 3 quid a cup (which has probably increased this year as per usual).
Shifts are assigned first come first served, so if you want to be sure of the same shifts as your friends then it's best to sign in at the same time.
Make sure you bring your CAT Pack and photographic ID. Don't forget to bring clothes for all weathers, as it can get quite cold on the night shift... And hope that you get to use your sun tan lotion during the day shifts.
As Pauk says, signing-in with friends makes it more likely that you can get on the same shift as each other, although if you don't it'll be a great way to make lots of new ones!
If you only eat on site allow around a fiver per meal. I think it's about 3.50 for a pint, so it's best to bring some drinks with you, or pop into the local Tesco.
Kind regards,
Tavis
.3.50 a pint? I live in two of the most expensive places in England, and that still sounds like a rip-off.
Thanks for the help guys, see you all soon!
