This is the official 2009 HotBox Events CAT lift-share topic - we thought it best to try and keep it all in one place this year!
In previous years many have arranged to share a lift via the CAT Forum - please do try and share lifts whenever possible.
For those new to the concept the general idea of a lift share is that you meet with another person who is heading to the same destination. In exchange for this lift you would usually be expected to contribute a small amount towards petrol costs.
If anyone needs a lift to an event or has some space in their vehicle then please post here.
If you can't source a lift from someone via the forum you could try www.liftshare.org or www.freewheelers.co.uk
Best of luck finding your lift!

i am coming from bath/bristol area to latitude/reading
I'm coming from Cardiff to Latitude and Reading Festivals this year, throw us a line and some drinki..umm i mean petrol coins and you get the luxery of sitting in my Micra!
We're looking into setting something up on the website/forum/PAAM to assist with lift sharing.
This may tie into the improved grouping functionality we're developing for PAAM - so you can more easily be grouped with others you plan to attend the festivals with.
Any thoughts?
Would you use it?
Has anyone seen anything similar on the net?
coming from peterborough for reading in need of a lift if anyone wants 'petrol' haha, id be more than willing to buy some 'petrol'...
or if anyone wants to train it together let me know... :)
4 years and it gets better everytime, see y'all soon :D
I'm expecting to have space for one from Sheffield > Latitude (Wednesday am) and return (Monday).
I'm travelling from Swindon area to Reading early Wednesday to get there for first registration at ten, then back on the Monday[:)]
feel free to ask me anything this is my 4th year 'Catting'!!
What time do you aim to get to the campsite on the Wednesday, or do you register and go to the early briefing then worry about setting up camp later??[?]

Shifts are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so it's best to arrive early so that you can get to see the bands you want to. Although you must not arrive before the time that will be stated in the information pack - which will be sent a few days before the events.
Kind regards,
Tavis

Hi Guys 'n' Girls
I will be traveling to Leeds from Nottingham, I can pick up from Meadowhall for any Sheffield folk and/or M1 junction 26(A52) for any folk from Derby.
If not I'll see you in the shift queue!
if im travelling from manchester to leeds via train on the tuesday does anyone fancy picking me up from the station? and dropping me off on the monday, either pretty early or pretty late to avoid the mad crowds (iv never had to get the train to leeds before and i'll be all alone...)
oh and about arrival time, i think last year we were allowed to be at leeds from midday or something, we turned up about an hour later and had plenty of time to set up camp because all the people who sign you in were still busy with other stuff so we still had a few hours to chill and have a drink first
Hi,
THis is my first year as a CAT at leeds festival. I will be travelling down from Newcastle by myself but do not have a car. is anyone else coming down from Newcastle or near here??
Thanks[:)]
Nat
I'm also leaving from the Brighton area, if anybody can offer a ride I can supply snacks and tunes :)
EDIT: Never mind, thanks Jack!
i'm going to re-add my lift plea on this page seeing as it's right at the bottom of the other one.
i'm looking for a lift from leeds train station to the festival site about midday on tuesday and possibly a return on the monday at anytime (though avoiding the late morning rush would be better). i don't want to have to explain to a random taxi man, who for some reason can't understand me at the best of times, how to get to the staff gate. and this way i get to meet someone before hand as i'm coming on my lonesome!
or even better, if anyone is going from/ returning to the manchester/oldham or liverpool area i will love you forever if you give me a lift (i just wrote \"if you give me a life\". oh dear.) i will obviously provide you with some sort of payment, due to the weight of my tent and stuff i shall be alcohol-less but if you feel like stopping off at a tesco or something on the way i shall buy booze for us both!
Hey everyone,
My 1st time this year at Latitude and Reading, needing a lift from Birmingham if anyone is travelling from round this way and wants some company and petrol/beer money. Would also be great to know someone beforehand 2 as i'm all on my lonesome,
thanks claire
